New Hedge Planting

                    at Veronica's Garden Services

There are many varieties of hedge to
choose from. Some are often overlooked such as Beech which is a beautiful hedge that is suitable for most gardens.

Planting a new hedge requires a stretch of ground at least 1 meter wide and 30 -40 cm deep that is free from roots from nearby trees or shrubs. It is good for boundaries between your neighbours or for sectioning off different parts of the garden.

Well rotted manure mixed with the soil will help retain moisture and enrich soil.

Hornbeams which are similar to Beech also make a very attractive hedge. We recommend to plant bare-root (taken directly from the ground and not in pots) Beech from November till March. Then cut back into the wood during the dormant season Nov-March.
